                                                                       IACS PUBLICATION GRANT

Guidelines

1. IACS Publication Grant (henceforth to be called 'Grant') be made in the prescribed application form only and addressed to the     IACS President / Secretary.

2. Only Life Members with no less than two years standing be eligible to apply the Grant.

3. Grant be made available for the proposed publications in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences with a maximum of 50%     Canadian contact.

4. Grant should not exceed Rs.10,000/-

5. Grant be provided only for the publication of Seminar / Conference Papers / Ph.D. dissertations / scholarly works.

6. To copies of the entire MMS should be submitted to the President / Secretary along with the application.

7. The MMS will be referred by two experts in the subject area of publication. An honorariam of Rs.400/- will be paid to the referee.

8. IACS EC is empowered to recommend the names of the subject experts.

9. Anyone or both the subject experts may be from India or Canada.

10. Publication Grant Committee constituted by the IACS EC will scrutinize applications for Grant and recommend to the EC MMS      for the purpose of referring.

11. The author/s / editor/s should submit Quotations from not less than two publishers in India or abroad along with their       application. The Quotations should gives particulars of the total cost of publication, number of copies, size etc. all and be       accompanied by letter's of acceptance of MMS for publication.

12. Copyright of publications will be with author/s editor/s.

13. The royalty money will be shared equally by IACS and author/s editor/s. The agreement with the publisher will include this       condition and will be signed by IACS President / Secretary along with the author/s editor/s and publisher.

14. An acknowledgement of IACS and Government of Canada support will be made prominently in the book on the page carrying       publication details as also in the acknowledgements section.

15. Copies of the books after publication details will be sent to the following:
      President, IACS
      Secretary, IACS
      Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Library
      International Council for Canadian Studies Library
      National Library, Ottawa
      Canadian High Commission, New Delhi

16. A summary of the projected publication in about 2000 words should be attached along with the application.

17. The right to accept or reject any application rests wholly with the IACS EC.
